Well we think we figured it out. Waxed canvas and top grain leather fit the bill and both only get better with age.
Featuring two magnetic closure front pockets, an interior zip pocket, a small interior zip pocket and a back zip pocket. The adjustable removable shoulder strap means the bag can be used as a messenger or briefcase.

We stand behind our products. Our two-year guarantee covers defects in materials (leather, rivets, zippers and such) and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase. Products covered by this limited warranty are repaired or replaced at no charge. Wear and tear from normal use, such as worn edges or creasing of leather are not defects in materials or workmanship, and are not covered. Final sale and factory second merchandise is not covered by our two-year guarantee.

I actually get excited taking it to my clinical rotations for school. It holds everything I need, without being oversized. It makes me feel professional (which I am rarely). Well made and the combination of waxed canvas and leather, very stylish. The materials are first rate as is the workmanship. I use it for my laptop and associated materials. Works perfectly. The only thing that would be a nice touch/addition would be an ID tag place on the bag.

I am very pleased with this bag. It fits plenty of items including my laptop, current novel, journal, sketchbook, laptop charger, planner, pens/pencils, papers, drives, etc. The leather is high quality and very sturdy, making the handles feel strong in the hand when carrying. The zippers also have a certain rigidity in that when pulled the teeth interlacing feels secure and reliable. Overall very happy with this bag, and plan to carry it for years to come.
